Description

TWENTY20 MENDOCINO > AVENUE OF THE GIANTS (AVE #33 X AVE #12 (F2): GREAT SUCCESS X (TEXTAROSSA X SOUR STRAWBURIED))

Type: Indica Dominant Hybrid (fems)

Lineage: Ave #33 x Ave #12 (F2): Great Success x (Testarossa x Sour Strawburied)

We use the classic “lineage” protocol with the parents listed in order of female first and male (or pollen donor) second.

Filial Generation: F2

This expresses the fillial generation of the cultivar. IX refers to In-cross which is used to categorize two close relatives that have been bred together. S1 is used for “selfed” plants in which we reverse a clone onto itself

PVI (Phenotypic Variation Index): Below Average to Low

This is a classification system we have developed in order to provide cultivators information regarding the amount of phenotypic variation that should be expected. Simply put, this describes the uniformity or lack thereof. The PVI index is calculated with a formula using a variety of observed traits. Although the formula we developed outputs a quantitative number between 1 and 10, we are publishing the results in qualitative format. The qualitative parameters we are: Very Low, Low, Below Average, Average, Above Average, High.

Indoor Flower Time: 65-75 days

This represents the total expected flowering time from the first day of light cycle adjustment to the flowering cycle. This parameter was developed for guidance on indoor cultivation only. For outdoor cultivation please see “Outdoor Harvest Date”.

Outdoor Harvest Date: Early to Mid Oct

This represents the approximate harvest date. The actual ripening date can vary slightly throughout different climate zones and growing conditions.

Trellising Requirements:  Average to above average

Height/Stretch: Above average

This is the term often used to describe the amount of growth that occurs after flowering has commenced.

Yield Index (per sf): Average

This is the yield you would expect relative to other varieties grown in the same conditions at the same time. We use the terms “below average, average , above average and high

Color: Ripens to purple and lavender, especially outdoors

Nose: Overripe strawberries, fermented grapes, ammonia nasal burn, red cedar, and orange candy.  A conglomeration of complex smells!

This category is subjective and not based on quantitative data. * the higher the PVI the more variation in aroma you should expect.

Tips from the grower: This is generally an easy plant to grow.  She has great even branching and does well with SCROG.  Outdoors, plants will naturally get quite bushy without topping.  As a grower, this cultivar has regularly been one of our favorites to grow simply because we love smelling her.  Her terpenes come out early and strong; don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers!

Notes: Named after the famed highway in Humboldt County, this is a union of three cultivars from three different Emerald Triangle breeders.
