History and Genetics
Originally named D-Line, this cultivar had its debut in the 2000s as a tribute to the delectable chocolate strains of the 80s. It’s the result of crossing OG Chocolate Thai and Cannalope Haze, with further backcrossing to achieve a shorter flowering time.
OG Chocolate Thai, an ancient landrace released in the 60s, gained popularity due to its delectable combination of bitter coffee and sweet chocolate. Their slow growth and predominantly male plants put this cultivar in high demand and hard to find.
Cannalope Haze is the result of the original Haze and a Mexican landrace and is known to ease physical and cognitive tension. Chocolope leans more toward the former parent strain’s traits.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
Nugs grown from Chocolope seeds are typically large and heavy. These golden buds resemble a cylindrical shape with brown and green streaks and vivid orange pistils.
